What's your vision?
We need a new eBook cover for DOUBLOON, by Jay Amberg. You can view the prior cover here: http://amzn.com/0786253991. For contractual reasons, we can't use this cover. Text should include the title, author name, and these quotes: "True high seas drama"—Publishers Weekly "A hearty, exciting plot. The story moves along smartly. Recommend . . . to Cussler fans"—Booklist Publishers Weekly and Booklist should be set in italics and that's an em-dash in front of the publication names. The ellipses are set with spaces in between. This is a deep-sea-diving mystery. The cover should communicate that. Look for photos or art (from respected stock photo sites, please) of the deep ocean. If you choose to go with a wreck photo, you would want a Spanish galleon of some kind. You may also want to play with pictures of Spanish doubloons, perhaps overlaid with a weapon (knife, gun, speargun). When posting, please be sure to link to the photo source, so that we will know what we have to pay for the photos. Last but not least, your design must include the Ignition Books logo, which I've uploaded. Preferably it should be bottom left or top left. It should not be so big as to intrude on the cover.
We have run numerous successful contests on 99designs. We greatly appreciate having the time to comment and tweak. Please plan for that. We will guarantee this contest as soon as we have at least one entry we think will work. Keep in mind that these covers are mostly seen on Amazon and other sites at less than 2" tall. The title and author's name should be readable in the thumbnail size and the rest of the art should at least intrigue at that size. Small, detailed art will not work. Clean fonts are best. Do not use "grubby" or "pocked" fonts. You may find this link to Amazon's cover design guidelines helpful: https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/help?topicId=A2J0TRG6OPX0VM.
