Why I do it: to evoke a feeling/emotion, telling a story that hasn't been told, remembering a special moment, freezing that moment forever, finding beauty in all things, showing a perspective that may not have been seen, allowing someone "last forever" within a photograph.
Where the name "Weston Lights Photography" came from:
Weston came from the name of a city in West Virginia that my grandparents lived and a place I would go visit growing up... I remember and can still feel what I felt when I was there... peace, happiness, seeing and appreciating things differently, etc. and can still recall the sounds (the creek in the backyard) and smells (fresh mountain air). I want my photos to evoke these types of feeling from when the photo was taken... brings them back to that special moment/time in their life. Maybe even appreciate it more than they had at the time.
and "Lights" came in from the importance and essential need for it in photography and life.
For logo inspirations I would like to incorporate something that reminds me of West Virginia but only one small piece so we can keep it simple and not "country" looking. I'd like it to be classy and still simply enough to use as a watermark on my photos: (but open to other ideas)... A winding road (maybe have the name slightly waved like a road) or have the road somewhere within it? A mountain, Trees in the fall, a creek, firefly lights.. I also thought about just have a light source, like a glowing light around the words. Or having the lights around the words creating a "bokeh" effect.
I hope I haven't overloaded you with information!
