We sell luxury products and luxury experiences. Our brand is extroverted, happy, modern, energizing and positive. We want to make people smile every time they interact with our signature items. We love contrasting colors, modern design. Visually we want people to want to look at our socks, because there is something unique about them.
Apparel description and purpose
We would like to design one unisex sock inspired in Avocados. We would like this to be the first of many interactions with the designer who wins, since we need 3 more designs that will complete our line of 4 socks with 4 different vegetable designs. Our line is inspired by the wide variety of fruits and vegetables that Mexico has given to the world. The company is based in Mexico City, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world which was designated in 2018 the sixth World Design Capital. And like modern design, we like simple, minimalistic design that spell out uniqueness. Our customers are savvy shoppers. They are connected. Think globally. They embrace a lifestyle of freedom, fun and are by nature adventurous. They are interested in wellness and are looking for ways to make their day to day more enriching. Life for them is about experiences: they love independent travelling, cooking at home and going to that neighborhood restaurant that caters to their needs with specials just for them, but also splurge on luxury experiences. They possess a personal sense of style. Our target is affluent women and men 28-45+ who enjoy statement pieces. This is a sock that you want to show off. It should be a sock with lots of color that makes people look at your socks. The socks should be able to be paired with a suit or downplayed on the weekend to go with jeans. The purpose goes beyond the function, is to show off the design, to be a statement piece.
We want our socks to look edible. Unisex in the design. The name of the sock is “Holy Heart Avocado”. The design should include an avocado. You should be inspired by an avocado that was picked in the middle of the warm summer and just sliced to show its buttery green texture. You could almost add a pinch of salt and eat it out of the avocado with a spoon. We call it holy avocado, because when we talk about the nutrients and benefits this fruit has, it is just the best, especially for the heart. It is a miracle worker when your health is involved. The focus of the line is on the featured vegetable, so it is important that even though the design is modern, it is not completely abstract, but understandable. You should really be able to tell it is an avocado. On the cuff the lettering of our brand Moolli should be included. We love contrasting colors, heels and/or toes can definitely be another color. But would like to have no more than 5 colors, for the clarity of the design. The sock materials are 80% cotton and 20% elastane. We want people who wear our socks to feel like it is a piece of art.
What to avoid
Clichés like a Mexican sombrero, ethnic designs, hot peppers, caricatures, people, smiley faces, gender specific items. The focus should be on the vegetable. We are a global company and are looking for global design solutions.
