"Drawing Dead" - Horror Story book cover with a frightening edge

Kendric Neal is a graduate of Bennington College and the author of "To the Metal" and "The Death of Marith Keene".
A compulsive gambler suddenly finds himself battling dark forces when he stumbles into a lucky streak that defies God.
Horror. Death. Fear. The main character spends most of the book terrified of the visage of a dark queen (who is inspired by the Queen of Spades on a deck of playing cards). She inhabits his nightmares and he can't seem to get away from her. (there should be a dark forest of large tall trees behind her, barely visible in the darkness).
What to avoid
Look at the below attached book covers. My name shouldn't be as big as Stephen King's. The image of the dark and deathly queen needs to be the most important thing. There should be something terrifying about her. She needs to look a little like the Queen of Spades from a deck of cards, but not TOO much like she's from a deck of cards, as that's not frightening.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
mwhstudio collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
