Hannah Parker was born and raised in Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Oklahoma State University, and her fiction won overall first place for the Katherine Paterson Prize for Young Adult Literature in the Journal Hunger Mountain. When not writing, Hannah can be found drinking coffee, reading, or competing in the hunter ring with her horse. Hannah currently lives in Oklahoma with her cat, dogs, and horses.
Every girl in Ballamor dreams of being Chosen by the fey. For some, because the fey promise to deliver them to the beautiful faery realm. For Larken, because her closest friend was Chosen the previous year. She tries to accept her fate—until she discovers that her friend is in danger and the promise of eternal joy amongst the fey could be a lie.

Book cover type
Would like it to center around one central object with maybe some side elements in background/ around edges. My book is a dark YA epic fantasy. I like all of the fonts that are featured in the sample covers I uploaded, anything bold and "fantasy" looking is great. Almost positive I want the central image to be a knife, but if you want to play around with these other ideas please go for it! You don’t have to incorporate all of the ideas of course just throwing some elements out there. Circle of mushrooms. Combinations I’m leaning towards: - central image of knife with autumn trees in the background/wrapping around it, knife with flames around it, knife with thorns around it, knife surrounded by a circle of mushrooms. Elements to incorporate in the background (if you would like), but not as a central image: - autumn forest, autumn leaves, circle of mushrooms, dark forest, wolves, horses, thorns, mushrooms, maze. Split cover (there’s a deep chasm that separates the lands with four bridges connecting it). Fire. I'd also like the spine to feature my publisher's logo, which I've included in the files.
What to avoid

Fran has been fantastic to work with. She was communicative, more than open to making changes, and extremely pleasant and supportive! But most importantly, she worked hard to make sure that the cover design she created was exactly what I wanted. I will most definitely want to work with her again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
